چکیده
Abstract Background and Aims There is a lack of evidence regarding the relationship between capillary blood glucose (CBG) >15 mmol/L ketones in maintenance haemodialysis dialysis patients meaning utility ketone measurement this group uncertain. Despite this, guidance published by Joint British Diabetes Society for Inpatient Care (JBDS-IP) 2022 states that should be measured on with diabetes mellitus (DM) who have pre- or post-dialysis CBG >15mmol/L symptoms consistent diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), acknowledging these can non-specific [1]. We sought to identify if there elevated levels patients, affects levels. Method Maintenance DM admitted single ward over 2 separate month periods were included. Nursing staff recorded using FreeStyle PrecisionPro meter. For each patient, further demographic data collected from electronic patient record. Results 79 measures 30 1 7 patient. 57% (n = 17) male, 37% 11) had T1DM, 80% 24) insulin therapy. The median pre-HD all was 10.5mmol/L (IQR 8.15-15.05), post-HD 9.1mmol/L 6.8-12.95), 0.1mmol/L 0.1-0.2) 0.1-0.3). no significant difference pre-and (p 0.09) (Figure 1). where 21) 0.1 0.2mmol/L respectively 0.45). >20mmol/L 6) 0.1-0.13) 0.2 0.13). <15mmol/L, 0.1-0.2). those <15mmol/L 0.69). Conclusion These results demonstrate (>15mmol/L) nor do they change post haemodialysis. Unwell clearly warrant medical assessment, but are useful aid assessment guide management patients.

Epidemiology of CKD Regression in Patients under Nephrology Care
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) regression is considered as an infrequent renal outcome, limited to early stages, and associated with higher mortality. However, prevalence, prognosis and the clinical correlates of CKD regression remain undefined in the setting of nephrology care. This is a multicenter prospective study in 1418 patients with established CKD (eGFR: 60-15 ml/min/1.73m²) under nephrol...
متن کاملDiagnostic utility of blood volume monitoring in hemodialysis patients.
BACKGROUND Assessment of volume state is difficult in hemodialysis patients. Whether continuous blood volume monitoring can improve the assessment of volume state is unclear. STUDY DESIGN Diagnostic test study. SETTINGS & PARTICIPANTS Asymptomatic long-term hemodialysis patients (n = 150) in 4 university-affiliated hemodialysis units. INDEX TESTS Ultrafiltration rate (UFR) divided by post...
متن کاملAmbulatory blood pressure monitoring: coming of age in nephrology.
The number of patients undergoing ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) and the number of publications using this technique to evaluate the risks and effects of high blood pressure on target organs has been increasing, and dramatically so, in the last 5 years. Much of this growth has centered on the role of the blood pressure load (the percentage of systolic or diastolic readings above a ...
متن کاملHome blood pressure monitoring in blood pressure control among haemodialysis patients: an open randomized clinical trial.
BACKGROUND It is not known if the adjustment of antihypertensive therapy based on home blood pressure monitoring (HBPM) can improve blood pressure (BP) control among haemodialysis patients. METHODS This is an open randomized clinical trial. Hypertensive patients on haemodialysis were randomized to have the antihypertensive therapy adjusted based on predialysis BP measurements or HBPM. Before ...

past few years. In the cost discussion in the psychiatric inpatient setting, length of inpatient stay is of great concern: duration of treatment and cost per case are closely correlated, and costs can be influenced via this indicator because, unlike in somatic medicine, the daily care rates are fixed (1). Within the specialty psychiatry and psychotherapy, the health insurance companies are dema...
